There are several trains that operate from Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh City. The most popular train is the Reunification Express, which offers both overnight and daytime journeys. The trains depart from Ha Noi’s Hanoi Railway Station and arrive at Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 30 to 40 hours, depending on the train and route.

Some of the train options include:

1. SE2: Departure from Ha Noi at 7:30 PM, arrival in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:30 PM the next day.
2. SE4: Departure from Ha Noi at 10:00 PM, arrival in Ho Chi Minh City at 9:00 PM the next day.
3. SE6: Departure from Ha Noi at 11:00 PM, arrival in Ho Chi Minh City at 9:55 PM the next day.
4. TN2: Departure from Ha Noi at 11:30 PM, arrival in Ho Chi Minh City at 9:45 PM the next day.

It is advisable to book your train tickets in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, as they can sell out quickly.

How to book:

You can get tickets from the ticket booths at the city train stations – which is the cheapest way to buy one. Sometimes buying the ticket off the counter can save you up to 30%.

However, sometimes it might be risky to wait and book at last minute (even 2-3 days in advance are considered last minute) – seats or berths on popular route are not always available. Ticket agents will charge you extra fee when you reserve online – most will provide free ticket delivery.

Ticket fare: $70 (Soft Seat) – $90 (Hard berth) – $99 (Soft berth) – Agent fare
